GLARE AT THE HORSEHEAD

A new Horsehead VLT by ESO (Very Large Telescope by European Southern Obervatory - VLT means a telescope which has a HUGE digital input scanner, an image which can take the better part of an hour photoning into a film plate can take at most a few minutes for a much better photoning into the new era digital camera recorders of the VLT) produces a new image of the Horsehead nebula, which changes quite a bit I thought I knew about the Horsehead. Try a rolling cloudbank, not a sea serpent's neck.

The Horsehead feature I am most interested in is not the teeth counted by Aristotle and the neck prioritized by theorists galore festooning cracked oak desk chairs in physics departments all over the world, each seeking to establish their place at the Masters degree seminar table in post doctorate contentious displays of what they learned accomplishing their masters, what I want to know is, what, exactly, lies at the base of the Horsehead pillar.

ROLLING CLOUD BANK

These new Horsehead images by VLT do not give me a thing about the amazing base. Do not give the VTL masters experts much either, judging by how much was
missed in their best factored images, released to the public worldwide, for praise. I have to assume praise it is because expertise involving them is such an arguable topic.

ROLLING CLOUD BANK - CONTINUED

In 3D stereo (overalay two images together by eyesight) the construction is seen not to be even a pillar as such, it is a rolling cloudbank, the lower portion a bulge rolling to the right in our direction the upper part (seahorse head) is skewing away you could say deep into distance but not that deep, the important thing is to realize the neck is not linear it is a cloud bank of rather deep length rolling away into distances. You will have to trouble to see the images in 3D overlay to see what I mean.

This completely changes all prior notions of what the Horsehead is like at Orion, only the silhouette is horse-like, the object itself is a 3D cloudbank.

Witness the following enhancements done in a few minutes each at home on nothing more than a simple Windows 98 dos PC setup on a worktable in a scene nothing different than illucidations discovered on a kitchen table. To see in the background, computing powers and imaging capacities greater than the stores of IBM mainframes unsold and Crays not yet built, to factor these images and release them to the public, in hails louder than the Pope's medieval declarations or Billy Grapham's loudest rants in front of 500,000 all amplified mightily by the world's greatest loudspeaker systems built to that hour at that present time, is fatiguing.

Images released with press releases can have that - hail imbedded in the text. I have no dispute whatever with the specialties even unsung genius which went into producing the images in the first place, it is the after place, the result, with so much missing, that has me perplexed enough to growl a bit.

I look, and see, a few minutes at most, I do not like, repeat, do not like, wasting time, repeat, do not like wasting time. Look at what I see in the VLT Horsehead nebula images. Compare these, the mine, against the VLT originals, and decide who is best at working around the Billy Grahams and the Popeistic type individuals, and atheists whose mentalities are thus by proxy the greatest most superior in the universe since in an atheist universe there are no others than those with atheist mentalities, self proclaimed superior, somehow.

Now for a little secret, I deliberately over enhanced, in intent to see as much inside the capes and canopy as possible so overbrightened faint textures around the outside of the pillar but let it go, the inner capescapes and diaphanous pillar wisps are a sight anyway.

The outer textures can be gently enhanced as follows.

I cannot begin to decscribe how much I wish the world's best professionals were able to do more curiosity seeking work, so I wouldn't have to do it, so I woudn't have to spend hours even days doing work which these guys and girls (the world's professionals) didn't do, so that I had to, in a feeling of responsibility that, if I know, and no one else knows, it is my responsibility to make available to others that which I know that others have chosen not to know), as you can see, the ontologies of my trying to do describe a position I do not want to be in at all, is not easy, very hard, most difficult, least user friendly, you add to the list.

Here are Horsehead images, as I see them, enhanced from originals posted by ESO for worldwide scrutiny as being examples of the best ESO can do. I disagree, ESO can do better, and much better. All it takes is to take the urine bags from the fronts of the elders who set standards, and take the peer pressure fears from the frontal lobes of the youngers, and let them go for it, not at 110% which is the best a career best can be, but at 220% and 330% percent, the best that young keen inteligences can be, unfettered by urine bags.

Do I make myself plain ??????   Do I make myself clear ????? Am I being self evident as a planetary observer on this planet but not of it ??????? I know, I know, the body astronomique is the one body in the world most sensitive to, least accomodating to, any kind of criticism, any kind at all particularly from the outside. So, let's not say the above carelessly chosen remarks are criticisms on the other hand do not have me on stage abjectly sagging over sobbing pathetically trying to force out the words of public apology, as did Marlon Brando one recent day over remarks some influentials did not like (ps Marlon Brando was acting, one of his best performances ever, fooled everybody). I do not see myself cowed to abjectation to then be whisked away to prison for life as was Galileo over remarks some did not like.

I hope instead that some sting of ego burn occurs, enough to cause second thoughts and even second actions on the part of those to whom the above remarks have beem directed. I feel cheated, recieving an image onscreen, reading and rending its boasts, being made to believe it is the best there is, T-h-e-e-e-e state of the art, knowing how much I hunger for how much more there is to witness, in the Horsehead nebula, I feel it intuitionally in my bones and between dopamine molecules in my brain, I feel it everywhere and so go looking and find. Why cannot anyone do the same, and more than I do. It is so easy, so easy, it is so easy to look and find. Will I ever have to write such a blare again. I certainly hope not. Indeed I certainly hope not. Definately, no, indeed. (I know the language but as you might guess definately do not like using it, no, definately indeed).
