STAIRS

These front staircase
photos taken at night had little
extra light only a 60 watt bulb in the hall and
the 110 mm camera flash. The few shells shown were a real saga
to get in Ottawa, these came up from Florida to a wholesale
aquarium dealer that also sold sea tanks with exotic
shrimps and anenomes, starfish, tropicals in
bizarre colors and shapes. I could not
order or pre-select shells, I could
only take home what was in the
bin including battered, and
glued back up wrapped in
lacquer so the shatter
was not seen until after
the 15 dollar buy and getting
the shell home, the shattered lacquered
shell did not work nearly as well as the intact
other but still imparted an important ingredient into the
sonics resonating in the sound stream from long distance up the hall
and around the corner into the living room, the fact of the shell's five
sided geometry topology purifying the stereophonics including
sharper distinction and cleared point source fidelity
between instruments and voices a fact you could
hear fussing at the stairs and hearing the
sound coming up the hall get better
and better, the better still in
place walking back into
the livingroom which is
concidered a particularly
important aspect of the sonic
open air resonance experiments which
came later in the day (toward the end of the
experiments) covered at length in NEWSOUND descriptions.
The conches, two of them, came by way of a yard sale several years
earlier for house novelty decoration. At first tried in sonic tests the
conches were spoilers then one day found to add sound but then
found to spoil long distance 'Airframing' until found
that afar on the stairs, excruciatingly focused,
aided a worthwhile ingredient adding
to the creation of live stereo
as if the stereo source was
performing right in the
livingroom, carrying
around the corner
as if in the
lobby of a
nighclub.

I'm a little ticked off.
Those are sea shells down the left
hand side of the stairs. This is the only photo
I have that shows them. Next is the original as it came back from
the 1-hour el-cheapo photo lab, you can understand why I am a little ticked
off even in poor lighting there is no excuse for a commercial
here's-your-prints-here's-what-you-owe job like this. You
can tell what the lab's automated equipment did
senser on a salient feature and colorized
everything else accordingly. Hence
complete, clear, paint brush
totally dark background.

I include such a photo
because I just don't want you
thinking I can't handle imaging software.
So the photo further above showing something is all
I could get from the photo above showing nothing which is
really a gripe because I wanted to show you sea shells that had Golden
Harmonic bandshell shapes and end spirals and the importance
of such Golden Harmonic spirals and ratios to a
particularly significant ingredient in
generic sonic reproductions
from both Mono, and
Stereo sound
sources.

If I had any
better picture of
the staircase believe me
you would be looking at it now.

Well, I almost lied.
I do. See. Details. On the
upper stair is a 5 sided yellow rubber
bought 2 for a buck at a dollar store, this later
tucked in the covy of a 5 sided dice cup from a game board
and placed on the top stair (next photo) did something that changed
the whole course of the experiments. For heck's sake the yellow rubber was
placed in the cup and as it was slowly excruciating being tuned
suddenly some whole new stuff came wafting up the corridor
from the living room, it was as if cotton batten had
just been taken out of the ears, minute detail
in the stereo sound stream, from a Mono
sound source in the livingroom. Skip
to a few days later and idea to
try and see if better focus
could be had with the
combination on the
top stair, the 5
sided cup from
a board game
and the yellow
rubber. The moment
I touched the rubber and
moved it, something vanished from
the sound stream. Later, try and try, all of
a sudden back came the missing stuff in the sound stream.
Ego several light bulbs at once. What was learned was do not touch
that which providence has provided, the first time the combination was put
together was first time lucky, that amazing stereo clarity only came
with the yellow rubber sitting just on the inside of the lip of
the cub, just to the left of the center axis going in, and
cammed just to the left slightly in other words a very
small rotation off a direct in-depth axis into the
cup, it was the only position in which the yellow
rubber worked. The other thing learned is that
such a tiny tiny spot of sonic tuning had a
major major effect on the sound stream by
Airframe carrying a long distance away
from the sound source even around a
right angle vector into another
room it had effect. Learned
thirdly was that sonic
resonances are every
where active at the
same time. Micro
measure cross
harmonics
cascade
into
Macro sound.

Regards the gripes
about cheap photo labs that
use hands off automated equipment,
the stair carpeting is light beige (light brown)
the walls are light beige almost white, the wood frames
bright polished oak. You can see what us humans have to live with
in the way of goods and services denied, when it comes to
low income living. Something as simple as photos
almost ruined a serious co-creative
effort in the march of time.

Look at how small
the white plastic 5 sided
cup is on the top floor. In this
zoom the slit in the cup is the 5 sided
yellow rubber in sonic position
just inside the lip. Both a
heart shaped and steel
smaller slinky are
lower on the
stairs.
